Big cheap marketing ideas!

Buy up local domains -- there are more available than you realize, and they have resale value! I own 14 domains and I added up just 5 of them and the resale value is 13,817.00!

Just go to  https://www.godaddy.com/  and start putting ideas into the search bar until one is available! The first is usually .99 cents and then 11.99 each after that -- if you land a great one that no one has thought of before, you will have spent .99 cents like I did! (Step by step instructions will be listed below) -- let’s get disruptive!

Let's take LOCAL territory -- what do you want to be known for?

Get specific! Waterfront? High end (500+) subs in blue ribbon school districts?  Second homes? Vacation homes? Right sizing (formerly known as downsizing)? First time buyers? Investment?

1.       Steer your local domains to your main website (I don't think there's a limit on this)

2.       Go to house of magnets  https://www.houseofmagnets.com/car-magnets and buy 6 for 60.00 -- use your existing logo (if you don't have one, you can contract someone at  https://www.fiverr.com/  to do it for you -- I've had tremendous results) and put the best local domain on it (6 instead of 2 in case one falls off) + your cell or google voice if you like a buffer and don't want to give out your private cell.

3.       Buy a basic notebook and start recording ALL of the calls you receive no matter what using this script... before I answer your questions, and in case the call drops, can I have your first and last name and your email address for my records?  Keep these calls recorded in your book that travels with you everywhere -- once a week put all of the contacts into your CRM but make sure to have them in a separate category for your hyper-local inquiries/leads/prospects that happened because of your car magnet or branded gear.  (This is not cheesy, this is OLD-SCHOOL!)

4.       In addition to your car magnet (actually before) create a FREE transferable design (download it as a PNG) that you can use while designing your magnets -- go to  https://www.canva.com/

5.       Take that downloaded design and use it in other printed materials like door hangers and postcards (hint, leave the back of the card blank so that when you are out and about and see a home you'd like to leave a message at, whip out your sharpie (that you keep in your car with you at all times) and write on the blank side of the card -- sorry I missed you, who is your landscaper? Are you curious about the current market? Are you curious about how much equity your home may have? Your neighbor just listed! (BOOYAH -- even if it's not your listing) -- www.vistaprint.com

6.       Keep your brand consistent and carry it everywhere!  On your signature line in your emails, in your digital presentations, in your printed material AND (thank you Elisa for this suggestion) collect 5 great testimonials and add those links to your signature lines on emails, texts, digital presentations.  Go into YELP, Google business (and anywhere else you can find that will give you tons of free promo) and check your scores, if they aren't there, it's time to encourage your clients to do this for you. The higher the scores, often the higher the SEO too!

7.       Take that same ad you used on your magnet, and in all of your other business marketing materials and create an ad on FB  https://blog.hootsuite.com/how-to-advertise-on-facebook/

8.       This sounds super basic, but if you haven't bought a name tag or branded gear, it's time to do so.  To save money, go to Costco and find a nice windbreaker, outerwear or basic shirt and locate a local embroiderer who can transfer your logo onto it.  It's a fraction of the price of buying things from companies that specialize in this.  My friends shop:  https://dandsdesignhouse.com/

9.       Last business idea -- make sure ALL of your digital images, branding and links are consistent!  Gmail, LinkedIn, Yelp, FB, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Twitter, Tumblr etc...

10.   Be a believer! Take control of your emotions -- which is stronger? Give up, or go on?

“So many of us think ourselves into smallness, into inferiority, by thinking downward. We are held back by too much caution. We are timid about venturing. We are not bold enough.... Struck down by our own caution, our own lack of faith in ourselves and our abilities. Opportunities? There were many. But always there was risk. Do we dare? We vacillate. Time hurries by. Opportunity gone. We anguish. The years roll on. Finally, we convince ourselves that it's too late and settle for cheap imitations of life.”― Og Mandino, The Choice

“My dreams are worthless, my plans are dust, my goals are impossible. All are of no value unless they are followed by action. I will act now.”― Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman In The World

TIP # 1:     Resources for obtaining names for prospecting https://www.coleinformation.com/real-estate/  (Monthly membership) OR MOJO https://www.mojosells.com/ -- the strategy I am suggesting is this: sign up for the 40 a month membership, download as many names as make sense -- calendar a date to cancel before you are charged for the next month.  Use those names for several months, then sign up again -- rinse and repeat! Or, if you're on a team, ask them each to contribute to the membership by pre-paying for it (40 divided by # of people on your team) and just decide how long you want it!       Again, calendar ahead of time a reminder to cancel on a predetermined date as per team decision.

TIP # 2:     Brand storytelling is the future of marketing -- please...read this and then write your story! https://www.forbes.com/sites/celinnedacosta/2019/01/31/3-reasons-why-brand-storytelling-is-the-future-of-marketing/#1916d82155ff

Tip  #3:     Create a marketing plan using Guerilla Marketing and read the book by Jay Conrad Levinson https://www.wordstream.com/blog/ws/2014/09/22/guerrilla-marketing-examples                                                                            (be ready to report out your ideas in June, I just might be launching a contest!)

TIP # 4:     See below steps on how to advertise on FB -- you can create a flier for free on Canva https://www.canva.com/

TIP # 5:      Last but not least, I learned of a sneaky thing in Google Chrome. If you open a search tab in Google Chrome, then hit: control/shift/N at the same time, you will be directed to a thing called Google Incognito -- Google incognito is a way to not have your history recorded, and companies cannot cache or attach cookies to follow and track your activities.  This is big for looking at your own website and online presence through the eyes of a prospect.  In addition, if you're middle aged like me, you won’t get those annoying ads for wrinkle creams and other obnoxious products and services that pay to track your online behavior.  I learned this from a 20 something Go Daddy tech support in the Philippines!                                        If you already knew about it -- YOU'RE one smart cookie!
