The perfect real estate year

Daily:

o    Starting with Sunday evening, do a 'brain dump' of your to do list for next day -- once you get good at this time block thing, your brain dump will only happen once or twice a week.

·         Success List exercise: Monday morning divide the list into personal and professional, then extract the top 5 money makers from this list. Place them in order of importance and DO them in order of importance, do not move to the next item until the previous item is done ...do not bounce around the list! Whatever you cannot accomplish on that day, move it to the top of the list for the consecutive day (please see attached 'success list example') (book recommendation Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy)

·         Each morning create your own version of the 'miracle morning' (another book I highly recommend by Hal Eldrod) -- I have it down to a very basic set of activities: make bed, stretch, eat, gratitude journal this takes about an hour total (6:30-7:30 for me, 5:30-6:30 for my spouse) consider a joint gratitude journal w/ your significant other, it really creates a new kind of bond

·         Remember your goal -- it’s to stick to your time blocks, not distract yourself or allow others to distract you. Your goal is to get ALL your time blocked work done before 1:00 pm. Most top producers go at it hard from 7-12 each day taking limited breaks -- then have a working lunch appointment 12-1 or 12-2 and then take the rest of the day off! Go golfing, go to yoga class, go shopping, go home, and do the hobbies you love! Will power be not on will call! When you decide to be an Olympian of the time block, there should be no reason you can’t have afternoons off! 

·         Never minimize your health or diet. You are what you eat, please take care of yourself, if you aren’t – where will you live?

·         Don't forgot laughter, daily laughter and playfulness is so critical for our mental health!

Weekly:

·         Always create and time-block your schedule in advance -- even if you don't have it filled or figured out (this is to call to attention how you really spend your time -- be intentional!)

·         Buy 3 highlighters (yellow, pink, and green) and a paper calendar, then time block where things should go and what you would like to happen...intend to have it done each Friday by the end of the business day. If you cannot, you have a framework for the following week to fill in as needed as appointments come up (this is an exercise in habit building!) in addition to paper, schedule all of your appointments in your google calendar...it’s easy to set it up so that it reminds you on your smart phone as they arise -- this is so easy and you'll never miss an appointment or opportunity

·         Leave generous 'wiggle room' between appointments (this will all but eliminate time crunch and crisis)

·         Fill in appointments as you go and for the following week.

·         Commit to Lisa's miracle 25 for lead gen: 5 calls, 5 hand written notes, 5 emails, 5 texts, 5 Facebook private message...25 a week and don't bounce around this order either...get the 5 frogs out of the way first thing...PHONE CALLS -- then once you are used to doing this once a week, do it twice, three times and then Mon-Thur every week! You will see your business change!

·         Encore each week with small rewards for yourself...you know what they are! For me, a drive in the country, a stop at my favorite nursery, meandering around Home Depot or Menards or stopping into a Barnes and Noble (one with a star bucks)

·         Check in with an accountability partner Monday (here's what intend to do) and Friday (here's what I did for the week)

 Monthly:

·         Schedule mini breaks in advance...I like to take 2 Friday afternoons off each month, it makes all the difference in my sanity.

·         Go somewhere! Even if it’s just a day trip to a small town with amazing roast beef sandwiches...familiarity breeds contempt and if you work from home, you want to always see your home as your refuge...a place you want to return to and enjoy. It should never be viewed as a burden or a place you are sick of being -- and based on my sleep hygiene research, your bedroom should be as nice as a 5-star hotel. This is where you spend almost 1/3 of your life, this is where you relax, unwind and your body heals itself. If it’s chaotic, if it’s loud, noisy, messy, it is making an impact on your physical and mental health. Great sleep hygiene involves serene surroundings, no TV, and no screen time for the last hour before you go to bed. Phones should be powered completely down, there should be no blinking lights or lights from technology of any kind.  Invest in a great bed, sheets, pillows, and bedding.... pets and kids in bed are a no no too -- think boundaries. If you don't have personal boundaries in your everyday regular life, how will you develop healthy boundaries when it comes to attracting and managing clients? There is a lot of psychology on the way to success!

·         When you have a closing, anchor it while doing something nice for yourself. You can buy yourself flowers, an ice cream cone, put a portion into your savings, donate ...you get the idea...this is not about expensive or expense...this is about anchoring the positive, so you are in charge of your life and career. Positively organized people always have more control of their lives! #lifebydesign

·         Review your 1/3/5 (1 Goal, 3 Priorities, 5 strategies under each priority) and your 411 (weekly/monthly/yearly goals)

·         Read a book or take a class!

 Yearly:

·         Take at least one 7-10 day vacation every year...if you're bringing kids along, make sure you take 2 weekend trips every year alone with your significant other -- even if you have pets, you need to take a break from them and from being in the position of being a 24/7 caregiver -- whether kids or fur babies -- again, this is about developing standards and boundaries that influence your self-esteem and therefore influence the way you interact with the rest of the world.  Tired beat down people don't have the energy to be problem solvers or 'DOERS' #doersgetthingsdone.

·         Review your 1/3/5 (1 Goal, 3 Priorities, 5 strategies under each priority) and your 411 (weekly/monthly/yearly goals)

·         Do something that scares you! Fly a plane, swim with sharks, join a group, cut your hair, prune a negative person from your life -- confess a secret, DREAM A BIG IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, and then announce it to your friends! It’s up to you to build this life by design...again, I ask, "If your life story was written as a book, would anyone want to read it?"

·         You have one precious life! It’s up to you to define it, develop and protect it!
